My iPhone is On It’s Way…
My iPhone saga continues…except this time I am about to finally get my hands on it.
I spent all day trying to order my iPhone when the pre-ordering became available. I wasted a day of my life as AT&T’s servers would never allow it. Instead, I was able to finally order the phone to be available “opening day” at the local Apple Store. When such day arrived, I waited until 3pm, assuming the lines would have died, and headed to pick up my shiny new purchase…The line for pre-orders was around the mall and the front of the line folks had been there for 7 hours already! Really? 7 hours they waited when they pre-ordered and all they apparently needed was to pick it up!

I had my kids in tow and there was no way I was about to plant us all in the mall for 7 hours. Even if I didn’t have my kids in tow, I have better things to do than wait for a phone.
I’ve learned since that Apple is blaming the fiasco on AT&T servers again saying they couldn’t activate them fast enough in the stores…hence the line. Well I had another trick up my sleeve, I had also finally gotten through to Apple and was able to order one online but it was showing me that I had to pay full price! As a valued and long standing iPhone customer (I had two iPhones, in the household so I should be extra special no?), I still was going to be hit with the full price!
After the mall fiasco, I was so upset with Apple, I was determined I was going to forget this upgrade completely. I got home, determined I wasn’t going to pay full price for the stupid phone and canceled my order online. Crazy turn of events that as I was doing that, Apple sent me an email stating it made an error in pricing me at full rate, and I needed to go online and get the new revised lower price. Too late for me as I JUST CANCELLED!
This brings me to today. I just got alerted that the phone I re-ordered after my raged died down, is now on it’s way. I’ve been using iPhone 4 OS since launch and frankly now I wonder if I need the phone at all. Sure the new display is nice, along with a few other bells and whistles, but I can say without a doubt that if I ever have this much trouble ordering from Apple/AT&T I will consider my love affair with the iPhone dead.
I already have all the major phones here at the office, and frankly Incredible is pretty, um, er incredbile!
