Facebook Vs. Apple iPhone Apps

Facebook Vs. Apple iPhone Apps

The gloves are off, and to be frank, this is an opportunity for the non-iPhones of the world.

There’s a chink in the armor of the iPhone. It’s the mismanaged way in which iPhone apps are approved or rejected. It’s been an ongoing problem and it’s now come to the forefront with Facebook for iPhone.

That’s right the developer of the Facebook app is calling it quits on future upgrades for the iPhone due to the poor approval process. Wow. Let’s look at the ramifications for a moment.

  • Other Facebook apps will suddenly have a chance
  • Will other app developers follow suit?
  • It’s likely this will cause Apple to “get it together”
  • Palm, Android and Windows Phone should pounce!

Seriously, Palm of everyone should be using this as an opportunity to get their heads out of their butts and start getting apps in their marketplace that people actually want. No kidding Palm, I love my Pre but six months later I can’t find anything good to use on it app-wise. Sure this started out as a iPhone post bu c’mon Palm, this is an opportunity for you to woo the developers of good apps. Yeah there are a few great apps on webOS already, but as a percentage, it’s really very low.

Back to the Facebook iPhone thing. This is going to be fun to watch…l
